windows home 10    latest finale version

I have been working on this score for weeks. Suddenly today when I reopen it to work on it, all the tempo marks I had have disappeared. Now I have to reinput all the tempo marks in the various parts of the score?. Why did it all disappear from one day to the other? also some changes I made to some notes of the score and saved few days ago were ok the day after. But now today the old version of these notes has reappeared. It seems there is somebig  bug in the Finale system or the system is unstable. It is a big problem because now I have to redo some of the work, very annoying. What can I do to prevent this?.

Are you sure that you opened the latest version of the piece, and not an older saved or backup copy?

More and more, I have found that strange things happening in Finale can be traced to leftover files in the Temp folder. Quitting Finale and clearing this folder solves tons of strange problems, including some very destructive behaviour that causes the contents of some open files to change.

In Program Options, select Folders and find the path to the Temp folder. On Mac, it is hidden, so in order to go there in the Finder you'll have to hold down the alt key while you're in the Go menu.

Make sure Finale has quit. The Temp folder should be empty when Finale is not running. If there is anything in there, including subfolders, delete them all. They will be regenerated when you restart Finale. You can see the dates on the files, and probably many of them are days or weeks old, meaning they have been sitting there screwing things up for you for that long.

Restart Finale. If things are not cured, then you should contact tech support.
