If you have upgraded Finale from v25 to v26, please let us know if the new features are worth $150 in your estimation.

Only you can decide if there are features that would make your life easier. Download the demo and try it.
Not for me, YMMV.
I've tried the demo on one of my other computers, and it doesn't fix any of my main issues. My v25 license hit four years old today, and I plan on living with it until 27 (or whatever the new version # will be) comes out.
I am a software developer, so I understand the value of an internal rewrite and am trying to be patient. :) ...but for my usage, if I don't see dramatic improvements in playback and default formatting, it's probably time to shop around.
You've given us no information that would lead anyone to recommend or discourage it for you. Mr. Cox's non-answer notwithstanding, MikeR's advice to download it and check it out for yourself is the only answer that makes sense.
If on a Mac you should be looking at 26. Besides adding Mojave or Catalina compatibility, 26 solves a high resolution display issue that has yet to be corrected in the Windows version.
I liked 25 but like 26 more (and have it on Macs running Mojave & Catalina with 4K and 5K displays). That's my non-answer.
My original post was looking for general responses. My stats: orchestral writing, Garritan GPO5 and Garritan JABB VSTs. Export MIDI to Reaper for mixdown. Windows 10 OS.
As for me, my pet peeves with Finale 25:
#1. Open conductor's score, "play" it, generate any part (e.g., Cymbals), edit the part, go back to the conductor's score and press play. The VST Aria banks are wiped empty!
#2. Scroll view, type in the desired measure number, and it goes there but doesn't update the measure numbers displayed at the top.
#3. Percussion Layouts and Percussion MIDI Maps are time consuming to enter (for GPO-5 orchestra)
#4. The MIDI CC editor is inadequate for my needs--tweeking GPO5 string patches especially. JABB3 trumpet and sax CCs, etc. (I wait to do this in Reaper).
#5. Exporting MIDI from Finale to import into a DAW (mine is Reaper) does not convert the GPO5 notation keyswitches to DAW keyswitch values. Trumpet shakes, etc do not export well either.
#6 I would really appreciate more score search and navigation capability (e.g., find and go to the next trumpet g-flat).
#7 I would love more keystroke macro capabilities. Finale Script sometimes deletes my entire file--I backup often.
HOWEVER, I am very happy with Finale! It sure beats the paper and pen I used in college days. Anybody remember hand copying parts?
