Hi, am using my newly purchased / upgraded Finale 26.3.1.520
Windows 10 PC
Is there a way to program [some] fingering numbers to go below [some] notes - those notes, for example, in the left-hand (bass clef) staff in piano scoring?
The Metatool I use works great and positioned fingering numbers above notes correctly and effortlessly, so that’s a great improvement.
But when I apply that tool to notes in the bass staff (or even notes in the treble staff that get executed by the left hand), the default position Finale uses places the number above the note in all case.
Proper scoring of piano fingering traditionally places the notes done by the left hand below the notes (regardless of staff).
I tried going back into articulation definition and configuring the placements of, say, number 1 to go below, yeah, that works, but then ALL occurrences in the score of the number 1 then go below all notes. So that’s not the solution.
I could, alternatively, select the different looking font of numbers available in the articulation library and program that to go below, but then it looks weird having two different fonts of numbers on the same page (not to mention the same staff and the same measure)
I need the articulation Metatool to somehow know: When I am placing a number onto notes in (almost always: Layer two) in the bass clef - left hand, I need the numbers to go beneath the notes.
Is there any shortcut to program this?
Thanks much for any tips!
Michael
