Although this is a Users board, we know the basic answers. You can upgrade from Print Music to Finale 26 through your MakeMusic User Account. You shouldn't have a problem but if you do, use that link.

The upgrade does not require the old version to be present on your Mac or PC. It will install as a separate application.

Although 26 will authorize on two computers, that's still for one user only.

I no longer see Competitive Upgrades (crossgrades) on the MM site but some resellers list them for 26. If you have licenses for a qualifying competitor's product, you should still be able to purchase Finale at a discounted price. Use the Submit a Request link for a qualifying product list and pricing. Perhaps MM should put that back into the store?

Remember that PM is stopped at 2014.5, and will not install on a Mac beyond 10.12 (IIRC)

When one "deauthorizes" Finale, is the Garritan library also deauthorized with it?
I just assume it would be.

The same for uninstalling: are they separate actions, or are they done simultaneously?

I don’t use the libraries, so I really don’t know. Did you authorize it separately when you installed? Does it show as a separate authorization? If it doesn’t, I would imagine it to be an all-in-one thing.

Though a second installer on your initial installation, the Garritan Instruments for Finale (GIFF) are authorized by Finale — you’re not supposed to be able to use them in any other app. Dunno how true that is — I never tried.

Garritan libraries licensed by the Garritan license key work in any app that can utilize the Aria Player — and there are many. This would include GPO, World Instruments etc.
