Just installed Finale v.26 on my 2010 iMac running High Sierra 10.13.6. When I click on the expression tool, the lyric box appears. Same is true for the chord tool.

I've rebooted the machine after installing the software.

Any ideas?

Thank you community

Are you referring to the triangles? That’s normal, so you can adjust the vertical placement of the entries.

I am. I’ve only seen those triangles before when using the lyric tool. But double clicking on a note after selecting the expression tool does not bring up the sub menu.

Triangles are available in several tools : Lyrics, but also the Chord, Expression Tool.

In the Expression tool, double click a staff to see the Expression Selection window. There should be an "Expression" menu in the menu bar. But most of the parameters can be found via the Expression Selection window (categories, etc...).

Kevin,

Is this in all documents, or just a particular one? You might need to reset the preferences. If that still doesn't work, something is wrong. Contact Tech Support. Use the Submit a Request tab at the top of the page.

Thanks Mike and Michel. The latest is that everything looks good on on my MacBook Pro running Catalina, but not on my iMac running High Sierra. I think that it may be a "clicking" issue between the mouse and the track pad. Now the expression tool is appearing intermittently upon clicking. So the software is likely good.

Thanks for pitching in!

Hah! I slowed down the double click speed on my magic mouse (v1) and all is good now!

And that fixed some other clicking problems I was having. Who knew?
