Hi Is the CFX sample library still only available as a digital download? Or can it be purchased in boxed form with USB key? Thanks.

There's a separate User Board for Garritan Instruments. Follow this link and click on Community:

Here are the purchase links for the different Garritan libraries. I don't see an option other than Download Only.

Hi Mike, thanks for your response.

I intend to purchase the CFX Piano Library, but see there is a Full and Compact version available, both with all three perspectives, Full providing a full-fat size, and compact with a lighter design for smaller drives. Does this mean the Compact version won't provide the same quality output samples as would the Full version?

Thanks.

Following MIke's advice, contact MM directly for any specific question you might have.

I don't see any mention of a library called CFX Compact. But there is a CFX Lite, I assume that's what you're referring to. Here's a product link showing you the differene between the regular version and the lite version.

https://www.garritan.com/products/cfx-concert-grand-virtual-piano/compare-cfx-lite/

To me, it appears the only difference is additional mic choices in the full version. I don't see anything that says the lite version is of lesser quality sound wise. So just ask yourself, do you need the additional mic positions. There's no wrong answer here, it's up to you.

Full disclosure, I don't own the CFX piano. I have no personal experience with it. But I do use other sample libraries that offer multiple mic positions, so I'm familiar with the concept.

To be honest, i think it's those other mic positions that make all the difference to a recording environment, always nice to have all of them. Being a piano purest who mainly only writes piano music would feel short changed with a Lite version,

Thanks for your support JT.

We know the feeling around here.

Actually, since we've had it rebuilt, If it was possible to purchase a VI that sounded like a hundred yer old Model 200, we would. I can't get this into my studio.
