I’m not sure about #1, but #2 - no.

About #1:

There is a setting in the Tablature Staff Attributes where you can select the option

{Break Tablature Lines At Numbers}

NB:

Settings in Staff Attributes are specific for that particular staff, in that particular document.

It is not a program specific setting.

With the “full Finale” you can access this staff setting, and change it.

I do not know whether PrintMusic can access and change this setting.

But if you have a document / template where {Break Tablature Lines At Numbers} is selected, then PrintMusic can open, display and print that document. And you can (with PrintMusic) edit the document; enter notes delete notes, &c.

I suspect that {Break Tablature Lines At Numbers} is selected by default in the TAB templates that come with PrintMusic.

I just looked at the PM manual. The illustrations in the TAB tutorial show the lines going through the numbers; no blanking of staff lines.
