Is there a "scaled back" version of FINALE (i.e. without all the bells and whistles) that will run on Mac Catalina?  The US $600 price tag is cost prohibitive, especially considering I'm not a music publlisher.

Thanks

Greg

No. They have discontinued all of the scaled-down versions: NotePad, SongWriter, and PrintMusic since 2014 or so, and Allegro even farther back. Sorry.

Can you qualify for any of the discounts: Student, teacher, or religious institution?

Keep an eye on the website; they occasionally run a sale.

Have you ever owned an earlier version of Finale product under your own name? If so, upgrade pricing is available. That price will be determined by the exact product that you've owned previously. If the full version of Finale, it's $149 no matter how old. Trade-Up pricing for some older products such as PrintMusic, Allegro or Songwriter is currently $200

from SongWriter, PrintMusic, or Allegro

$200,<

Have you ever owned a competitor's premium product? If so, cross-grade (i. e. competitive Upgrade) pricing may be available. Cheapware/beginner versions etc. don't count.

If you currently own an individual license for one of the qualifying competitive notation products listed below, you can purchase Finale Competitive Trade-Up directly from MakeMusic for the discounted price of $149. For this price, you receive a single-user license of the latest version of Finale and the license qualifies for future upgrade pricing as well.

Qualifying Competitive Products:

  • Dorico Pro by Steinberg
  • Notion by PreSonus (excludes iOS version and Notion Protégé)
  • Sibelius | Ultimate by Avid (also known as known as "Sibelius" in previous versions; perpetual/permanent licenses only, subscription licenses not currently eligible)<

Composer, Mosaic, Overture and Encore used to be on that list.

If you have questions about any of this or are unable to purchase through the web site, use the Submit a request link at the top of the page to ask Sales directly.
