I am setting a rather long poem.  As I am nearing the end, the text I type into the score doesn't appear in the text window.  The text is in the score, but doesn't appear in the text window, so I am unable to edit them.  Does anyone know (a) if there is a limit to how much text will appear in the window, and (b) if there is such a limit, if there's a work around to edit the text in the score?

Are you talking about the Text Window or the Lyric Tool's Edit window? The Text Tool seems able to expand automatically until the text is well of the page.

The Lyric Edit panel will scroll but seems able to contain an awful lot of text within it.

If lyrics, are you sure you didn’t accidentally switch to another verse number mid-stream? That would explain why the text was in the score, but not the lyric window...

Mike, how do I check to make sure I didn’t do that accidentally somehow? Thanks.

I would use the Selection Tool.

Find in the score a lyric section that does not appear in the Lyrics window, and double-click on that lyric (you may have to zoom in on the score).

Finale will take you to the lyric verse you double-clicked.

To see, in what lyric verse you are, go here:

Lyrics menu > Specify Current Lyric…

(or you can look in the Lyrics window)

Thanks for the quick response!  I checked, but the lyric verse is the same throughout.  In the middle of a sentence, the lyrics stop appearing in the Lyrics window even though they appear in the score, but when I checked them in "Specify Current Lyric" they are the same.  Both are verse #1.

Thanks to all who responded.  The solution turned out to be that in the pop-up window, there's a limit to the amount of text that can appear, even when you scroll down.  By expanding the size of the Lyric Window, the missing text appeared.  Thanks for the help!
