I have the full version of Finale v26 installed, and see the "Plug-ins Menu," and have the associated folder for Plug-ins. I'd hoped to add the JW Meter & Rythym Plug-in for use with meterless chants. But, it's available only for earlier versions of Finale. And, my earlier version of Finale is only SongWriter, which doesn't support Plug-ins, being less than a full version.

Am I over-looking something? Is there some other way to enter notes into a measure without the constraints (and nags) of a time signature? Or without setting each and every measure's time signature to accompdate the number of needed notes, and then hiding the time signature?

You're on Windows, then? No, I don't know of another way, but counting and hiding. Sorry.

It would be nice to think that the forthcoming release of Finale would address this matter for arrangers of psalm chant. This is hardly an obscure backwater in terms of serious music, so I wish the publishers of Finale would take this deficiency seriously. I'm not holding my breath...

Instead of, manually, hiding the time signature in each and every measure, use the Staff Attributes to de-select the display of Time Signatures.
