I'm using Finale v.26. I'm pretty sure it is the latest update, with windows 10, latest update. My problem, among other things, which is a topic for other forums, but for now, I have been having problems getting various sounds to work. I have been gonig about my business, making song arrangements using various percussion instruments and various xlyophone and other Orff barred instrument parts. The problem is that finale has been not giving sounds to the percussion parts I have assigned. The percussion instruments I have assigned are fairly basic percussion parts, but finale or rather the MIDI portion won't play them back with sounds. I have had discusstions with various MakeMusic individuals. I thought that the final program and Garriton were not complete, or rather that while finale let me name the instruments as I wanted, that Garriton didn't assign them MIDI patches. I was assured that the instruments assigned did indeed have Garriton patches that should be working. I was even sent a demo with the specific instruments I mentioned showing me that Garriton did indeed have those sounds. However, While the demo worked, my files still don't I was led to some articles which basically confirmed that Garriton should automatically assign the MIDI sounds to the instruments I have chosen. But they don't. I will attach two of the files I have done to prove my point... Well I was going to attach the files, but there is no place to do that here... Oh well.
