I've had a bunch of issues with Finale 27.4 and macOS Tahoe the occasional times I've gone back to modify something in an older score (I stopped all new work in Finale after August, 2024), but the latest macOS 26.3 beta has made Finale totally unusable for me. I noticed a score had some unnecessary dynamics and a clef needed to be moved to an adjacent measure.  Normally pretty simple tasks. But as son as I start Finale, the selection tool (arrow) is replaced by a large yellow-orange rectangle that makes selection nearly impossible. And music spacing doesn't work correctly, either, when I invoke cmd-4 for note spacing. I uninstalled Finale completely per the online MakeMusic video instructions and reinstalled from a newly-downloaded F27.4 installer. No change. Restarted in Safe Mode: no change. Unless a subsequent beta fixes all this (unlikely), I would strongly suggest caution when updating to a macOS Tahoe beta or even the final release of 26.3 if you are still using Finale.

Goodgawd, yes. You might want to ask Jan to be part of his beta program. Just remember that you probably can't talk about it if you do.

I've had Dorico for 7 years but, like MuseScore, too much of it requires the use of two hands, a luxury I've not enjoyed in 17 years. This may change in the coming months due to recent medical advances but, for now, that's how it is. Finale is soooo much faster for me and I'll likely keep it going as long as possible—until I can't, of course.
