I am running Finale 25.0.0.

When I try to add dynamics to a score, Finale shuts down. It will recover the file but I cannot add dynamics.

I uninstalled and reloaded Finale and Garritan ("Accept" to all prompts) and the problem continues.

And what dynamics? Fixed dynamics (p, mp, mf, f)? Hairpins?

I listed the version being used ias Finale 25.0.0. It runs on windows 7.0 platform. The shutdown happens any time I use the Expressions Tool. As soon as I select a note to add the dynamic, the program stops and the Error Report appears to ask if I want to report the problem.

Or as J ADRIAN VERKOUTEREN calls them, "fixed dynamics."

Do any other types of Expression cause a shutdown or just dynamic expression, or is the problem merely choosing a note, regardless of what you plan to do to it?

(It all sounds very strange, hard to determine what is causing the problem. Presumably you are using the 64-bit version of Windows 7.)

25 has had a few updates since 25.0.0. The first step I would take is to run the updater. Many bug fixes and Windows issues were addressed in those 5(?) updates. Your User Account has the latest to download and install. You should also be able to update from within Finale.

No other function in Finale causes the shutdown, only the Expression Tool.

Yes, it is very strange and it is debilitating, who can work on Finale without using dynamics, tempo marks, rehearsal letters, etc.? All are essential to making music.
