You're discussing it with Support so not sure where the issue might be.
Is it possible that you have a firewall or other port blocker active (or on your network)? If so, disable it temporarily. Once Authorization completes, you may re-engage without seeing the popup again (till the next Windows update for some users, unfortunately).
I have no firewall. I'm on the road (retired college music professor and full-time RVer), so I use my phone's mobile Hotspot for internet. Support had me create a 'test' user account for my PC to try authorization. For awhile it worked - but only when I was online. Now it doesn't work at all- I'm back to getting the nag screen again. I've never had this issue with any previous version of Finale, and I've been using the same laptop for 3 years now. Its weird that my authorization shows up in my account, but not on my PC. I even tried an uninstall/reinstall of v27 with no luck. Its been a few days since I've heard from support.
Ok, you have a network issue and you know where it is.
My iPhone has certain network restrictions on cell data use. I put them in place on purpose to make my data more secure so, if I were having this issue, that's there I would look. It's possible that a support call with your cell phone provider might open the port that you need.
You're on the road. If it's possible to log into a secure network when you're at a landing place, this might fix all.
Thanks, but I don't think it's a network issue. I have a Samsung S9 plus with a Verizon VPN. I have been on the road for 3 years, and installed and authorized Finale 26 the same way. When I reinstalled Finale 26 (using my Verizon mobile Hotspot and VPN), I had no issues with installation or authorization. I guess I'll have to wait to hear from support again. As I mentioned before, I'm using the same PC I've run Finale 25 and 26 on for 3 years with no problems. I've always (since being on the road) used my mobile Hotspot for internet. It's just weird that I get thanked for authorizing mu copy of Finale 27, and that it shows as authorized in my account, but isn't usable on my computer. Maybe I need to try downloading the .zip file on my PC instead of my phone; but a .zip file isn't system specific; and I had no problem with the installation- just the authorization.
Also, my account is showing 2 slots with 2 different authorizations (my computer doesn't recognize either one). The account won't let me delete them, and if course, I can't deauthorize from Finale 27 because it isn't authorized. I asked support a couple of days ago to clear them; hasn't happened yet. I'll try authorizing again on a wifi network when they do so. Maybe that'll make the difference. Its just so odd that in 20 years if using Finale, I've never had this problem before.😏
You keep posting that your PC can’t see the authorizations. I agree with you. If I could easily explain ten years of TCP/IP Windows support I would but I’m pretty sure that’s where the problem is.
If your cell phone is the hot spot, A port or set of them that needs to be open isn’t. MM Support can tell you which ports are required by the license manager. Your cell provider can help with figuring out why they’re not open. There are settings that can be kept closed to increase data security that can be opened temporarily.
Can you not look into your account and release those authorizations yourself? You should be able to but sometimes that doesn’t work and Support does have to do it for you. If you don’t know how, most of us can post the steps.
When I press the delete button for the authorizations in my account under 'Manage Authorizations', and fill out the 'reason' and 'specify then click OK, I keep getting returned to the screen that asks the reason for the deletion. So, I can't do it from my account. I asked support 2 or 3 days ago to clear them, but they haven't yet. I agree it may be a TCP/IP thing. Whenever support decides to clear the slots, I'll try authorizing on a different wifi network. I can't try again until my slots are cleared, as I get the message "you have reached the maximum.." when I attempt it now. Thanks!
