I found a three-year-old post that addressed this problem in a backhanded kind of way ("rhythmic notation problem"). I have arranged a piece with a lot of dotted eight-sixteenth combinations for a lot of instruments (concert band). I'm trying to create a short score, and when I copy pieces from another score doc, Finale turns dotted eight-sixteenth into eight-tied-to-sixteenth-sixteenth. The MIDI/Audio "retranscribe" trick works (poorly, since it requires a bunch of cleanup anyway), but if I attempt to do that in anything approaching global manner across the score, it makes a complete mess out of everything else. And if I have to go through the score and retranscribe and clean up a measure at a time, this glitch will kill the better part of a day.

Surely MakeMusic has a better solution to this. Is there some hidden setting that I'm supposed to know about?

I'm running 25.5 on a more up to date Windows system.

MIDI/Audio menu > Quantization Settings > More Settings

There are two options for Dotted Rests.

Are they selected?

(Yes, I know. It sounds crazy that a setting for dotted rests would affect dotted notes)
