I see there is a new version 3 of TG Tools. I did not see what is included in the new version 3. I am always looking for plug-ins that do what Finale should do, BY IT SELF, but I have Perfect Layout so any new TG Tools would have to be "SOMETHING"!
Thanks for the heads up.
My copy reads as follows: 3.00beta, Created: August 29,02016, Modified: August 29,02016. The download was namedTGTools64beta3
Even though it was officially in beta, it worked fine in 25 and 26 so I copied it to 27 and never gave it another thought—still works great. I'm guessing that Beta is incompatible with AS Macs but I don't one one yet.
I don't believe that the tool set is any different than 2.80rc1 for Finale 2014.5.
I'll have to see when I purchased. If I did in 2015, my upgrade is no charge.
If you ordered a version 2 license on or after Jan 1st, 2015, please request a free upgrade by email
I don't mean to hijack this thread but see no need to start a new one. As I posted, the old 3 Beta still works in Finale 27 on my Mac over Catalina and there's now a release version. https://tgtools.com/index-en.htm I do not see system requirements anywhere but a lot of issues in Big Sur are with installation and you can install TG 3 manually.
Here's the downloads page. https://tgtools.com/downdocs.htm
The Installer places it into your latest version of Finale only. If you have more than one version of Finale, you need to copy TGTools.bundle into the directories for your other versions. You can also download the file as TGTools64Mac3.00rc9.zip (Mac only), unzip and and drag or copy TGTools.bundle into the directory(ies) manually. As with Windows, you need to be logged in as Administrator and may have to Authenticate the installation with your Admin password. Here are the directories for each version:
/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 27/Plug-ins/TG Tools
/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 26/Plug-ins/TG Tools
/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 25/Plug-ins/TG Tools
If you have multiple versions of Finale installed, you should copy TGTools.bundle into each. It makes no difference if you copy it to the Plug-ins folder or the TG Tools folder inside. It If you have multiple versions of Finale installed, you should copy TGTools.bundle into each. It does not conflict with TGToolsLE.bundle that installed with Finale in the TG Tools folder.
The full version of TG Tools is Shareware. It will install and function without asking for a license fee (Mac — I don't know about Windows) but you are expected to be a good citizen and pay if you use the software. Tobias’s licenses and terms are found here as is this upgrade offer "If you ordered a version 2 license on or after Jan 1st, 2015, please request a free upgrade by email"
https://tgtools.com/regfrm.htm
Shareware is not very common anymore but a generation ago, it was how small developers distributed software.
