You tell that you are using Preview?

I am not sure how you are doing the conversion?

Perhaps you are exporting the Finale document as PostScript, then using Preview to convert the PostScript file to PDF?

Anyway, instead try the Graphics Tool.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Just tried the graphics tool with a similar result — export graphic shows a previous Finale document.

Up to now I have always accessed the PDF via print, where the save as/title automatically copied the name of the Finale document. Now for all my current creations, I am seeing the name/title of a previous Finale document.

I have never experienced that.

It is not clear to me what you mean.

Are you (in the Finder) seeing the File Name of a previous document?

Or does the Title on the first page (in the PDF file) display the Title of a previous document?

I am not sure the following will help, but it might narrow down the culprit:

To examine the File Name, in the Finder, highlight the file, and hit Command-I, to open Finder’s window File Info.

To examine the Title, open the Finale document, open the window ScoreManager, and click the chiclet File Info.

In the Finale document, the Print window (from save as PDF) shows a title and "where" which do not reflect its true identity. Thank you for the ScoreManager tip, which I have now adjusted for the score in question. However, the problem persists.

I am sorry, but I still do not understand.

1) Are you talking about the directory dialog box Save As PDF? (from save a PDF you do not get to the Print window; it is the other way around: from the Print window you can get to the Save As PDF dialog)

2) By your word ‘title’, do you mean Title - or File Name?

3) By your word ‘where’, do you mean folder directory?

4) What do you mean by your words ‘which do not reflect its true identity’ ?

What is ‘true identity’ ?

Perhaps you can explain the problem in another way?

Sorry for my inaccurate explanation. I will try again.

As always, I start with the Print dialogue and then from the PDF option, I click on "save as PDF".

In the top window marked "save as" I see the title to a score I created some months ago. Also in the window midway marked "title" I see the same mistaken title. By "true identity" I meant the title of the current Finale score.

As expected, the finder info states correctly the title and location. 

Wow, I have no idea what's happening. I'm having my issues with 27.1 over Monterey but this isn't one of them.

Print to .pdf is working exactly as it should. I made sure I followed your steps in order (which is the correct way to do it on a Mac anyway).

Perhaps it is time to consult Tech Support.

Thanks for all the investigative help. I think I have found a future solution by creating a stationery pad, instead of using former scores as a template.
