I just purchased a new MAC with OS Big Sur and am transferring my files. I use Finale and am still on 2014.5, but planning to update that. I will want to hook up midi to my keyboard for inputting notes in speedy entry, and for over a decade I have been using an M-Audio Midisport 2 X 2 for that purpose, but see it won't be compatible with Big Sur. Does anyone recommend any other midi interface for that purpose?
You will need a MIDI controller or interface compatible with Apple’s Core Audio/MIDI — no drivers required. Nearly all made since 2015 are as well as many older models. Core specs have changed over the years so you need to make certain that anything you use is compatible if looking at used.
I don’t notice any Mac drivers on M-Audio’s site. It’s possible that your Midisport will just work.
