(BTW, this is a jazz question.) The "blowing section" of the arrangement has chord changes and slash notation on the treble stave, but the bass stave is empty. To save space on the page, I'd like to get hide the unused bass stave, but because it's a piano part, that's illegal.

Any idea for workaround?

No need to use a workaround.

This can probably be fixed by changing the Group Attributes for the piano Staff Group:

EXACTLY! 10Q. (Actually, I decide to use that stave to lay out some comping chords, but great to know. Herbie Hancock's "Speak Like a Child".)
