It is not clear what you need.

- Do you need the range as info for your work in Finale (perhaps displayed in a dialog box)?

- Or do you need the range displayed in the layout, as info for the performer?

You could treat it as a coda system. That is, set your ranges up in the first measure, and start the piece in measure 2. Hide and adjust measure numbers, and time and key signatures in the Measure Attributes.

… and beware that there is a plug-in:

Plug-ins menu > Measures > Create Coda System…

I don't think the OP was trying to find out how to position the info, rather asking for a function that would calculate the information for each staff. Sounds like a feature request.

Adrian, I agree. But rather than asking Finale to add the feature, which would probably never happen, I think it would be a great project for the FinaleScript or JW Lua mavens. It’s sort of like the Handbells Used function.
