I have a Windows 10 computer and recently re-installed Printmusic 2014. At that time it was working fine......a month later it will not open, the printmusic icon will appear on the system tray at the bottom of the screen and when I hover over it with my mouse it shows a blank page. I have to use task manager to close the window. Any help with this issue will be appreciated.

I would try uninstall, restart the computer, and reinstall.

This is often caused by a subsequent update or install corrupting or changing a path. Back in my Windows Support days, this was easily the cause of 90% of all the calls that I handled. MikeR’s suggestion is the first one to try.

The other strong possibility: PrintMusic is 32 bit. If you changed Win10 to 64 bit only (or an update did that for you), PM 2014 will not work.

Mike H, does that mean that windows has a setting that allows both 32- and 64-bit programs to run?

Officially, the 64 bit version of Win10 can run 32 bit apps. There are a lot of ifs, ands & buts, however. If any of those go wrong including minor path issues, then there will be problems. There are many users running PM 2014 on Win10 so we know it can be done. Microsoft stopped supporting the 32 bit version of Windows 10 in 2020 and say it's no longer available for download.

Reading that support doc from Microsoft makes me sooooo glad that I no longer do Windows support in any capacity for anyone. I gave away the last of my Win machines in 2020.
