1) At the beginning of the Coda, add the Coda Symbol as a Text Repeat.

In the Repeat Selection, note where the Coda Symbol appears in the list, to find its Text Repeat ID.

If the Coda Symbol is at the top of the list, then the Coda Symbol’s Text Repeat ID is ‘1’.

If the Coda Symbol is at the next place on the list, then the Coda Symbol’s Text Repeat ID is ‘2’.

&c.

In this example let us say that the Coda Symbol is #7 on the list, so that its Text Repeat ID is 7.

2) At the end of the A section, add the text repeat for the jump to Coda.

3) In the Repeat Assignment, set the Target to Text Repeat ID 7.

Set this Text Repeat to Jump on Pass 3.

4) At the end of the B section, add the text repeat

D. C. alla Coda

(Target: Measure 1)

Set this mark to, Always Jump (or Jump on Pass 1).

Thank you for your speedy and detailed response.

I'm afraid I don't quite grasp what you are teaching me.

May I impose upon you to explain again, but this time with references to my sections? I think it would help.

Part of the problem is I left out one ingredient: after the 3rd (and finale) playing of "Section A" the jump to Coda is three bars before the end of "Section A" -- I'm sorry if this is confusing, but my head is spinning a bit :-)

My scenario is:

Play "Section A" and then repeat it.
Go then to "Section B"
After "Section B," play "Section A" (without the repeat) and thee bars before the end...
Go to Coda.
-- -- --
So, linearly, it would be:  A1 - A1 - C - A2 - Coda

Hi, again, Peter,

After my last post I had an epiphany, of sorts. Your mentioning Text Repeat ID, etc, triggered and idea.

I simply used first and second repeats, and on the 3rd pass, Go to Coda#

Perhaps just airing my thoughts stimulated a sort of online brainstorming.
