For months I have been providing service music and hymns for my church on Sundays we don't have an organist. I score the music in Finale, get it playing the way I want, and then I export a MIDI file that I import into Hauptwerk, play it and record it. Today I entered two new hymns as usual. Finale playback observes the ritardandos, but all of a sudden Hauptwerk playback doesn't. Hauptwerk playback DOES observe the ritardandos in Finale MIDI files created as recently as yesterday. I figure that Finale is leaving something out of the MIDI files I created today, because when I play them using Windows Media Player or Audacity, the ritardandos aren't there. It's not only Hauptwerk playback.

I really need to fix this because it's a show stopper for me recording any more music for church. It sounds bad to end hymns and service music with no ritardandos.

What Human Playback (HP) setting are you using?

(As Mike says, this is going to be difficult to diagnose without more information. This is where being able to attach an example Finale file would be very helpful. Although one can save a file to a Dropbox-like location and post the link here, a direct upload--not enabled by the forum software--would have been more convenient.)

Sorry for not giving enough information to start; I didn't know the expectations for the initial post in a topic because this is my first post to the Community. The piece is in 12/4 because of how it's phrased. Just for grins I converted it to 4/4 a few minutes ago, and now the ritardandos are present in the MIDI files. We won't be singing from this music, so it doesn't matter how it looks in Finale.

Thanks for reading and offering your initial comments. I will be sure to follow the house rules in the future. At this point I may open a request because in my mind, ritardandos should work regardless of the time signature.
