Hello, friends. I am trying to write  three D flat in the same bar. As you know, normally you write D flat once and the other D of the same bar are flat without writing the flat. I need to write the flat simbol in order to help my students to remember that this note is flat. I am writing atonal music. Can you help me?

Example: I want to write C, Dbemol, C, Dbemol... in the same bar, but the software writes C, D bemol, C, D...

I have Finale V27 and windows 10.

Thank you.

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to force show a courtesy accidental - right?

I suppose that you are entering with the computer keyboard, not with a MIDI keyboard - right?

Are you using the Simple Entry Tool, or the Speedy Entry Tool?

The latter note will be a D♭ if you are using Simple Entry (the accidental will not display, but you can hear D♭ in the playback).

The latter note will be a D♮ if you are using Speedy Entry, displaying a ♮. When you flat the note to D♭, the accidental will not display (but you can hear D♭ in the playback).

To force a courtesy accidental:

A. In the Simple Entry Tool:

Simple menu > Simple Edit Commands > Accidentals > Show/Hide Courtesy Accidental

(Note and remember the keyboard shortcut)

B. In the Speedy Entry Tool:

Speedy menu > Speedy Edit Commands > Show/Hide Accidental

(Note and remember the keyboard shortcut. You can also hit the letter A key)
