I'm afraid I'm back again with a problem. I can't make the quavers beam together here. How do I hide the tails of the eighth notes so that I can use the beam extension tool to join them together?

The "slash flagged grace notes" plug-in also does NOT WORK. Does Finale not allow multiple grace notes to be slashed? Does it only allow single grace notes to be slashed? This is infuriating!!!!

Mike, do you mean that the only way to do this is to make multiple real measures, and then hide the time signatures and barlines to make it look like one measure spanning two systems?

Ah, I seem to have found out how to do it. In the Expression designer, select the font which you know contains the symbol you want, and then in the Text drop-down menu choose Select Symbol.
