We need more info. What platform? What Finale version? Can you post a picture of what you want?
How are you creating the PDF? There have been many reports of problems when using Finale’s PDF function. You might try one of the third-party PDF creators.

Are you using auto-numbering? You have more control if you turn that off, and number the lyrics as part of the verse.
Mike M, The wireless mice have all worked fine with Finale. And it worked with SmartScore X. It's SmartScore64 that's the problem.
I've tried the touchpad on my laptop, and I hate it. Maybe I didn't give it enough time to learn it. I keep a corded mouse in the bag. I had to switch from the Magic Mouse back to a standard corded...
Do you have offsite backup, like Carbonite or Time Machine? Have you searched your computer for .asv or .bak files?
This has been an issue for years. I’ve just trained myself to tap the + or - keys on the numberpad as I’m entering notes. But it’s on my list as a longstanding, unfixed bug.
