Set the time signature for the first measure to 7/8 displayed as 12/8. This is a common strategy for creating pickup measures in Finale.
Perhaps Printmusic does not have that option. It would help if you would always say what program you are using and what operating system (as requested in the forum guidelines)so we could help you...
Am I correct in sensing that this is a problem confined to (newer) Mac Operating Systems? I have not noticed it on my PC and do not use my Mac much with Finale.
