Try unchecking the Close subsidiary pallets in Edit > Preferences > Pallets and Backgrounds and see if that helps.

We need more specifics in order to help. What changes at measure 113 page size? staff size? system size? page margins? system margins?
Did you enter a target tempo for the end of the ritard?

Were the measures you altered originally part of a multi-measure rest. If so, you would have had to regenerate the multi-measure rests.
How is your Page Size set under the Page Layout menu? If it is set as you want it, then try applying Redefine Pages (also in the Page Layout menu) to All Pages of Current Part/Score.
I play VST (Aria) sounds through my Mac laptop all the time, although the sound is better when I plug in external speakers (via the headphone output).
