If you download the Dorico free trial, it will include the latest versions of Bravura and the Pentaluma (handwritten) font. You can then uninstall the Dorico demo.

I do not do much work on the Mac, but in Windows you steps 1 & 2 would be unnecessary. That is not to say that just finding and then installing the support files should not be easier.
