I would use a Staff List to define which staves show the To Coda or Coda marking in the score and also in the parts.
One can mute notes entirely using the Edit Frame option of the Speedy Entry tool. Or one can assign the notes to a muted layer in the Score Manager.
Use the Change option in the Utilities menu after selecting the measures desired. (Of course my own motto is "If it ain't Baroque, don't fix it.")
Are you marking one part Solo but not the others? HP quiets non-solo parts when one is marked solo.
The simple fact is that Violin Solo 2 KS is softer/less resonant than Violin Solo 1 KS, and even more so in the GIfF than in the GPO5 or GPO4.
