The Orchestral Strings do have "Small Sections" instruments, with 6-player Violins, and 3-player Violins. So you would need to switch the instruments using different MIDI channels.

GIO has no Legato patches, CCs, or other controls. It was release over a decade ago, and is pretty poor, IMO.

The slider represents CC data. ARIA Player's sliders are normally CC11. If you're not sending any values for that CC, then the instrument falls back to its defaults.
