I just downloaded the latest update and am running on macOS Sierra 10.12.1.
I have a document with a starting measure of 226. The playback controls say measure 1 at the beginning of the piece. I need the playback controls to match the measure numbers that I have customized in this document. Is this a bug? I think this used to work properly where the two numbers would match if you had a custom starting number.

The counter in the Playback Counters will always display the "absolute" measure numbers of the file. This would be a great feature request!
If you have Finale v25.2, there's a new measure number bar that appears along the top when in scroll view that will show the "defined" or custom measure numbers. Just make you choose "Display defined measure numbers" under Finale > Preferences > View. I know that's not quite the same thing you're looking for, but hopefully it will still prove useful!
