I am creating a solo version of a choral piece where in the original, the soprano line has 2 note chords.  Is there a way to erase the bottom note of the chord without deleting the entire chord, which also deletes the lyrics and it becomes a real process in editing.  Is there an easier way to do this?

As Mike R says the plug-in JW Staff Polyphony will do exactly what you want. It is one of the 8 updated JW plugins included with Finale 27.3. If you don't have 27.3 you can d/l the correct JW plug-in and install it yourself.

Super easy and no plugins needed: just use Speedy Entry, select the note you want to delete, and hit shift-delete.

Thank you for all of the input/help.  Actually,, I discovered, that if you zoom in to the score like 4 times, and click the eraser icon in the simple entry window, cursor to the note, it will automatically erase the note needed to be erased in the chord.  The issue was that if the cursor wasn't exactly on the note, it would delete the entire chord.  Initially I had been able to do this but it seemed that in zooming out only once or twice, and a sensitive cursor would either do the note or erase the chord.. SO, I decided to try it zooming in even larger and it worked like a charm.. and saved a great deal of time... :)

With the plugin you can remove all of them with one click and you don’t have to be precise. Simple might be okay for one chord or so but not an entire line.
