I'm using finale 27.3.

I composed a melody in Finale (note notation). This piece is for a computer game and has to be in a loop.

So I made a audiofile (mp3 file) so this can be used in the game.

But when I listen to the mp3 file it has at the end 5 sec. of silence. My music don't. So it's not useable for a loop...

My question is, why do I have 5 sec of silence in the mp3 file? and how can I remove that in Finale. My music has a normal ending...

Get Audacity and you can edit a ton of options for your mp3. Best of all Audacity is free. It is very easy to cut the 5 seconds from the end plus do all sorts of enhancements if you like.

The extra seconds are to allow for reverb to die down so the music does not sound chopped off. Clearly for a loop one needs something different, but if one needs something different, one needs to make adjustments.

Ah, MikeH, no matter what computer or OS or Finale version, I still will recommend the OP get Audacity.

The macOS has had a built-in mp3 converter/editor for over 20 years.

Adrian's guess is probably close to the mark—that or a plug-in with a look-ahead feature. Since the OP has not told us anything including the OS, I like our guesses better.

Who cares how long Mac has had it. What possible difference does that make? It isn't Audacity not even close.

I have no idea to what you ask or are referring to. I simply offer simple suggestions to what works for me hoping it works for others. The fact Audacity is free is another good thing. You as well as the OP are free to make use of it or not and there is an end to it.
