macOS 13 Ventura introduced a new feature called Stage Manager for organizing applications and windows. If Stage Manager is set to show windows from an application "One at a Time," it can result in some minor display issues when opening and closing many of Finale's dialog boxes, as shown below.
Stage Manager is disabled by default. It can be enabled from the Control Center or from the Desktop & Dock section of System Preferences.
To avoid this display issue, you can disable Stage Manager entirely while Finale is open (from the Control Center or from System Preferences - Desktop & Dock). Stage Manager can be re-enabled easily from the Control Center.
If you wish to continue using Stage Manager with Finale, you can customize its behavior to display windows "All at Once," which prevents the display issue. To do so, please follow these steps:
- Open System Preferences.
- Navigate to the Desktop & Dock section.
- Scroll down until you find Stage Manager and click Customize.
- Note: this button is greyed out unless Stage Manager is enabled. You can enable it with the switch to the left of the Customize button).
- In the window that appears, next to Show windows from an application, click the option currently selected to open the dropdown menu and select All at Once if not already selected.
- Click OK.
