When using Finale with certain models of HP ColorJet and HP LaserJet printers, the printer is not able to sense some MakeMusic fonts and will print blank space.

Some printers are capable of installing new fonts through an SD card or USB drive. You can download the font pack for your operating system from the bottom of this page if your printer is capable of this.  You can contact HP Customer Support if you have additional questions about that process.

In the event that your printer isn't capable of accepting new fonts, one workaround is to first create a PDF of the file, and then print from a PDF reader. You can do this by following the steps for your operating system below...

Mac

  1. Open your file
  2. Click File > Print.
  3. Click PDF > Save as PDF. in the bottom, left-hand corner of the Print dialog box
  4. Save the file to your Desktop
  5. Print the newly created PDF version of your file using your computer's built-in PDF reader
  1. Open your file
  2. Click File > Export > PDF.
  3. Save the file to your Desktop
  4. Print the newly created PDF version of your file using your computer's built-in PDF reader
