This issue is resolved in Finale (Version 25).

Finale (or PrintMusic) 2014.5 is most likely crashing on launch because the Mac detects an absence of a built-in input device. When you plug a device into the Audio In (microphone) port, your Mac will detect an input device and Finale 2014.5 will launch normally.  Any device with a standard 1/8" connector will work, including a pair of headphones.

Some Macs, such as the Mac Pro, do not have an Audio In jack. In this case, you can activate the Built-In audio input driver by plugging in a USB audio device.
