In Finale 2014 and later (possibly earlier versions as well) a problem has been identified with the Graphics Tool which prevents exporting a selection that is not found on page one with some documents. There are two possible workarounds.

Changing Page View Style:

  1. When in Page View, choose Document > Page View Style > Looseleaf Style: Current Page Only.
  2. Export the graphics selection using the normal method.

If the above solution does not resolve the issue, then you'll need to export the full page and then crop in an image editor.

  1. Click the Graphics Tool.
  2. From the Graphics menu, click Export Pages—not Export Selection.
  3. After exporting the page, the image can be brought into any image editing software, such as MacOS Preview or Microsoft Paint. Use the tools available in that program to crop your page down to your desired selection.
