Starting in Finale v27 for Windows, Finale uses the built-in Microsoft Print to PDF feature to create PDFs in the application. Windows 10 is the first version of Windows to offer Print to PDF, so Windows 8.1 users will have to install and utilize a third-party PDF printer to effectively create PDFs in Finale v27.
Thankfully, there are a number of free or inexpensive PDF printers on the market. While we recommend that you do some research to find the option that best suits your workflow, the MakeMusic support team has found success using either of the applications listed below as alternatives to Microsoft's Print to PDF:
