If your Finale file does not finish playback to the end of your piece, you can adjust this parameter in Finale’s playback controls. Most commonly, this was related to a Windows-only bug where the playback controls would not extend the end measure of the playback region when adding measures. While this was resolved in 27.4, pre-existing files can still exhibit this problem. To resolve, adjust the file's Playback Region:

  1. Select the gear icon on the Playback Controls to open the Playback Settings dialog box.
  2. Under Stop At:, make sure that End of piece is selected, click OK.
  3. Test playback.
