There is a known problem when printing to PDF using Finale v27 for Mac that causes the margin alignment of the PDF to be off-center for some users. This is only known to happen if you do not have a physical printer selected in the Printer drop-down menu.

If you are experiencing this issue, please follow the steps to configure a page size that will help mitigate the issue:

  1. Open a Finale file to be saved as a PDF.
  2. Choose File > Print from Finale's main dropdown menu bar. The Print dialog box appears.
  3. From the Paper Size drop-down menu, choose Manage Custom Sizes.  Please note that if this option is not available for you here, then you may have a printer selected in the dialog box that does not allow for custom sizes. If this is the case, then you may be experiencing a different issue. Please see here.
  4. Click the "+" button in the lower, left-hand corner to add a custom page size.
  5. Type the needed values in the Width and Height fields.(for example, use "8.5" and "11" respectively for Letter-sized paper)
  6. Then, in the Non-Printable Area section, enter "0" in all 4 fields (without quotes).
  7. Please feel free to rename the page size by clicking on the name in the column to the left, and then click OK when you are finished.
  8. Make sure that the new custom size you created is selected from the Paper Size drop-down menu in the Print dialog box.
  9. Choose PDF > Save to PDF.
