Hello. Finale 25 (Windows 7) is crashing on me during pre-processing for human playback at the 73% mark with "process-hairpins" listed in the window. I had this problem with previous versions but had hoped that it would be solved now. I just installed the most recent update.

Any suggestions for getting around this? It seems to be caused by the wavy lines following a trill mark. I know I can take those lines out and it will work, but I don't want to have to undo those so I can just put them back in later. And I know I can turn off Human Playback to get the general idea of the piece, but again, that doesn't seem like something I should have to do.

Thanks for the help!

Hi Belle,

Thanks for posting! The HP processing dialog box with the progress bar was removed from the interface of Finale v25, so I just wanted to start by double-checking your version. What's the full version number that appearsunder Help > About Finale?

The version is 25.2.0.92. It's definitely the same dialog box I used to see in version 2012.

Is it the version that you are actually using? The aliases and shortcut icons look nearly identical.

Why MM pulled such a bonehead move makes no sense but they did ant it causes a lot of needless confusion.

I am having this problem with my Finale 2010. If I upgrade to a newer version, will this error go away?

Please download the demo, before you purchase. Everyone’s computer is different, and only you can tell what works on your system.

It is my understanding that the garritan voices do not work on the demo, and i use them exclusively. It doesn't seem like I can benefit from a demo to evaluate the sound when the sound is non-functional. Is this correct?

The Garritan sounds are not included in the demo. Chances are you can link your existing Garritan sounds to the demo as you would link the add-on packages to a regular version.

Okay! Thanks for that. I am not sure that I know how to do that, but maybe I can figure that out.

How you do it depends on Mac or Windows but once you figure out the path your older version used, it’s pretty easy to apply it to the 27 demo.
