trouble printing linked parts

Hello,

I've done a full arrangement for winds and percussion, edited the linked parts, formatting, etc. So I go to print, and the dialog box in the print menu (where you check the part(s) you want to print) is EMPTY. There are no instruments or score to select to print. I tried changing printers (from printing to PDF to selecting my actual printer) and it has no effect. I've tried rebooting my computer, and it's had no effect. I tried printing to PDF anyway (even though there are no parts or score to select to print) and it prints (to PDF) my first two instruments in the score (picc and flute) and that's it.

I was able to use File - Export - PDF to save the score as a PDF, but it didn't export the individual linked parts.

I'm running the latest version of Finale 25 with Windows 10 Home.

As a test (not a solution), try this:

While viewing a linked part. use the Graphics Tool to Export Pages (look in the Graphics menu) as PDF.

What happens? Do you get a PDF of the linked part?

Is this the first time you've tried to print

a score

since you began using the Finale 25/Windows 10 combination?

Has Windows received (endured) an automatic update recently? If so, you may want to use the "Submit a request" link to send the file to MM directly for help.

Thank you for the suggestions. Here's where I'm at:

Peter - Yes, I was able to view one of my linked parts, go into Advanced Tools - Graphics - Export Pages and save the linked part as a PDF. This of course is only a temporary work-around, but it will get me to survive until I can figure out what is really going on.

J - Yes, this is the first time I've tried to print from linked parts. However, I had another score I was working on a while back. I went ahead and opened up that file, and tried to print, and the same thing occurred, no parts or score show up in the print menu to select for print. Then, I created a test score this morning, and the same thing, nothing in the print menu to select to print. l checked for a Windows update, and it said my system was up to date with the latest update.

I will use the 'submit a request' link and try sending the file to MM, but the fact that the same thing is happening in other files leads me to think it is another issue. Any other ideas are very welcome, thanks all!

I had same problem today.

The problem is your settings for your printers.

MM has this solution, which worked for me:

I have had the same problem. I am not using the Windows Print to PDF option. Any possible solutions?

Hi Charlene,

If you are encountering a similar issue but find that the Print to PDF feature may not be causing this, definitely get in touch with us using the Submit a Request option above. It will be best to troubleshoot this with you directly through a case.

Hi, I have sometimes noticed that some people do not properly configure the score management (Ctrl-k) and consequently also the score management (document - management of the parts), consequently the names of the parts can not appear in the print window and are empty.

But this will certainly not be the reason.
