I am using Finale 2014.5 on a mac (OS 10.10.5). I created a quarter tone key signature using Maestro Percussion font, via nonstandard key signatures.  However, I'm unable to include a double flat symbol because, within Maestro percussion font, this symbol is entered by holding alt and typing 0186.  This does not work within the nonstandard key signature dialog box.  Anyone have any ideas? Maybe there is a way to change the keystroke correspondence for the font so that I can make a single letter/number correspond to the double flat symbol? Or is there another font set that has all of the usual quarter tone symbols and regular accidentals with single letter correspondence? I am using arrow style accidentals (i.e., the natural, flat, and sharp signs with arrows attached to their stems).

Alt -0186 is a Windows code. How did you use it on a Mac?

Ah, you solved the problem!  I had just been looking off of a PDF chart of the Maestro Percussion Font character set - the only one that seems to come up in searching, and it didn't specify windows or mac.  Then I remembered I could look up symbols within the font menu - the double flat corresponds to the integral sign (∫).  All set now, thanks!

Another issue -  I have both the lower-altered natural sign (with a down arrow attached to the stem) and the raise-altered flat sign (with an up arrow attached to the stem) in the symbol list ID corresponding to an alter amount of -1. But only the lower-altered natural sign shows up when I cycle through the accidentals using speedy entry.  Any ideas?

Just a “shot in the dark”:

How many different accidentals does the Finale document have, on the same scale step?

If I Recall Correctly, a document can not have more than 15 different accidentals on the same scale step.
