2 problems (acknowledged by support). They recommended that I expose them here, for more reactions.

1) the Playback Controls Window never memorizes its position at each launch of Finale. It keeps moving upwards. If 2 monitors are used, the window even makes big jumps.

2) with 2 monitors : when they wake up after sleep, all the palettes have moved, and the score window resized.

As a result of these 2 problems, I have to reposition everything several times a day...

(in 25.5, the position of palettes and windows is supposed to be memorized automatically, no need to save preferences)

I find that if I save either the file I'm working on or Preferences, the palettes show up exactly where I left them with one exception: Finale never saves the palette position onto my other monitors—and never has.

It's long past time for MM to incorporate true multiple-monitor support. Most other apps I use got that right years ago (of course, they went to 64 bit long before 2016, also).

Thank you, Mike, for sharing your experience. Have you noticed the specific behavior of the Playback Controls window, systematically drifting upwards (even on a single monitor, although less than on a second monitor) ? I tried saving preferences, with the same result...

I fully agree that multiple-monitors support is not well implemented.

More testimonies are welcome, in the hope that MakeMusic will eventually put this problem closer to the top of their to-do list.

Having trouble with triplets.  I used to be able to successfully create triplet figures using either/both of the triplet tools.  Now, usually at the end of a measure, Finale won't allow me to insert the last note of the triplet, especially if there are rests within the triplet.  Instead it inserts rest of smaller value than the triplet note I wish to insert. Although I'm not a power user, I've worked with Finale for many yearend not had this issue until the month or two.  Any help is welcome.  John Mills-Cockell

To end a measure with a tuplet,

- try using the Speedy Entry Tool’s sub-tool Tuplet Tool,

or

- de-select “Check for Extra Notes”.

When did this thread start to be about triplets?

John,

Please attach your questions to the appropriate thread (use the search function)--or if all else fail, please start a new one.

Peter Thomsen & J Adrian, this wasfirst time I've visited zendesk and was unfamiliar with the protocols.  Sorry.  That said your tip abound-selecting "Check for Extra Notes" did the trick.  Many thanks.
