FINALE 25.5.0.259

MAC OS 10.12.2

Ever since I started using Finale 25 all lower slurs and ties have been too far from their notes.  Upper ones are fine.  Happens in old and new scores.  Right now I have to drag every one into place, which takes forever.  Would appreciate advice.

Are you sure you're using slurs as slurs, and ties as ties? They are two different tools.

Can you post a screenshot of the problem?

Yes, using the tie and slur functions properly, but having a hard time getting those lower ones to move higher.

That looks to me like it might be a font annotation issue. Unfortunately, I have NO clue how to correct it. I suggest you read up on Font Annotation, in the help files. There should be a way to correct or regenerate the annotation file.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Did the OP enter this from scratch or import it?

I entered this myself.  Whenever I select slur, it's fine if it's above the note, but not if it's below.  Same if I select tie.

To get to the Font Annotation:

• Open the Finale document (you can not get to Font Annotation if no document is open)

• Preferences - Edit

• Click the button Font Annotation

• In the dialog box Font Annotation, click the button Set Font…

• … and choose the music font you are using in the document

• In the dialog box Font Annotation there is a button for Auto-Annotate All

I clicked "Auto-Annotate All" and so far (fingers crossed) the problem is fixed.  Thank you, Peter!
