WINDOWS 10, FINALE 25

The original text requires a rest of eight written as a rest of quaver. For instance in bar 12 tenor voice and bar 15 tenor and soprano voices: the rests of eight should be written as rests of quaver, as in the original, but I don't know how to do it.

Is it possible with FINALE ?

Ideas.

I am not sure which one is the faster/better solution:

1) Enter the rest as a {not displaying} tuplet of

1 Quarter in the space of 1 Eighth

2) Use the Speedy Entry Tool, and launch Voice 2 on the Eighth rest.

In Voice 2, enter a Quarter note.

Change the Quarter note to a rest.

Hide the Eighth rest in Voice 1.

3) If this is a “global” setting (= for all the measures in the entire document), then consider using the Quarter rest glyph as the document’s default Eight rest symbol:

Document Options > Notes & rests > Rest Characters > Eighth

Is it possible that the rest should be the reversed eighth rest? Wasn’t that used as a quarter rest in days of yore?

The solution was very easy. F.i. bar 15, 1 quaver rest and 3 eights with "White" head at the soprano voice: first a quaver rest, then a tuplet "3 eights instead of 3 quavers" and finally turning the black heads in white heads using "note shape tools" in the special tools palette.
Just entering a rest as a tuplet of 1 Quarter in the space of 1 Eighth
