Non-pitched noteheads, PrintMusic

I am trying to create non-pitched noteheads for a brief passage in the bass part of a Barbershop Male template in Finale PrintMusic 2014 for Windows. Apparently, there's a keystroke command for non-pitched noteheads, Alt+0192, but it doesn't seem to work. Maybe I'm not going about it the right way? Is there a certain tool palette that I need to be in?

I suspect you are out of luck so far as changing to a percussive notehead is concerned in PrintMusic. You might be able to open the music in a demo version of full Finale, make the change, and then see if it will persist in PrintMusic when you open it there.

Here's a tutorial I did a few years back. You can make one character, and then copy the components as needed. No playback, of course.

For that, you need Finale.
