I just want to ask if anyone experiences major crashes with Finale under Mac OS Ventura. When ever I open an other audio application Finale quits immediately. When I reopen Finale, it usually works fine. But there is clearly an issue with Finale's audio engine and Ventura. I feel like I am back in 2000 when software used to crash every 5 minutes.

I am running Finale 27.3 on a 14" MacBook M1 and Ventura 31.1.

Honestly, no. And I was part of the development seed testing cycle for Ventura, so I'd been using it for months before the release and Finale was pretty stable. I'm updating to the latest beta of 13.2 as I write this.

I will say that Finale is pretty touchy regarding changes in audio interfaces, but unlike a few years ago it at least doesn't crash if I change my audio output (although it doesn't work right unless I restart Finale in those situations). But Finale has not been problematic in terms of stability under Ventura, at least in my experience. Sorry to hear of your crashes. Do you have a crash log?

It’s working for me, as well. I have 27 loaded, but I’m sticking with F26 as my primary. I still can’t wrap around the unicode conflicts

Maybe. There’s an issue with something, somewhere. Besides sending crash reports to MM Support through the Submit a request link, I would have the Apple Activity Monitor window open. If something turns red at or just before the crash, I would drill down immediately to find out what went wrong. I can no longer allow Corel products on my Mac because of interference caused by their updates manager that cannot be disabled.
