I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but after the 27.3 update, all my legacy template files have been converted into finale library files. So I can't open my templates like normal. Has this happened to anyone? Any fixes or work arounds?

I'm rocking a 2022 MacBook Pro 16" Mojave iOS.

If I understand you correctly, you have some v26 “legacy” Finale templates (using the Finale “legacy” fonts, such as Maestro), with the file name extension .musx - right?

 

And these “legacy” templates are located in the Templates folder - right?

 

And your Finale v27.3 has changed the file name extension from .musx to .lib - right?

 

What happens if you change the file name extension from .lib to .musx ?

Yes you understand me correctly, and when I change the extension back I get this prompt:

"While attempting to access “The Band and Massive Modern GGD.musx” the File Manager reported an error.

Finale - Error occurred. ID = -12"

 

to which nothing happens afterwards.

I suggest that you contact the folks in MakeMusic’s Tech Support.

You can send them a description of the problem, and attach some of the templates.
